Innovation First

Innovation First International began by manufacturing electronics for autonomous mobile ground robots and has now evolved into a market leader in instructional and competitive robotics goods and a rising creator of consumer-conscious, IT-related solutions. The company was formed in 1996, and is a privately held firm built on the concept that innovation is required very early in the design process to develop attractive and straightforward product designs.

They currently own three companies: VEX Robotics, Inc., RackSolutions, Inc., and Innovation First Labs, Inc. The VEX Robotics Design System is a leading classroom robotics platform that fosters creative progress in robotics and an understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. This has paved the path for other robotics products in the education, consumer, and business-to-business industries. The firms are continuing to create robotics to improve the VEX experience. In 2008, the HEXBUG brand of consumer robotics toys was launched, expanding its footprint in the retail toy sector.

The RackSolutions business was founded in 1999 to become the "Rack Mount Problem Solvers," using the company's core strength in electrical and mechanical engineering. RackSolutions currently collaborates closely with all major computer OEMs to provide unique mounting solutions and industry broad rack compatibility for all sizes of data deployments.

Innovation First's story all started with two engineers in a garage with an idea; the concept wasn't for a new product, but rather a set of ideas about how businesses should function. Tony Norman, an Electrical Engineer, and Bob Mimlitch, a Mechanical Engineer, first met in their early careers. They realized they shared similar problem-solving skills and perspectives on creativity while tutoring youngsters on a local high school robotics team. They don't believe that "this is how everybody does it '' or "we've always handled it this way" are valid justifications for doing anything. They value daringly innovative approaches to problem resolution in all business sectors, not just technical design. By concentrating on defying convention and originality early in the design process, they can discover simple and beautiful solutions. They believe in the rigorous and continuous nature of the engineering design process and enjoy "fast and dirty" prototypes that assist reframe challenges.

Both founders trust in the value of hard work and that, above all, enthusiasm will drive excellence and accomplishment. They think that with creatively built solutions, excellent goods, and excellent customer service, any issue can be resolved. Their firm was established on these principles, and they are at the core of their pledge to all of their customers. Like many other innovative high-tech enterprises, Innovation First International began in a garage and swiftly expanded from this humble beginning to encompass three unique businesses, over 300 workers, and nine offices globally.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was the largest streamed event in online history. According to Yahoo! According to projections, there may be up to one million concurrent watchers, which is unprecedented at this time. Yahoo! started making this notion a reality by buying vast amounts of 2-post racks and servers from Dell. They discovered that the Dell servers could only be installed in four-post racks when the equipment came. When a buddy relayed this compatibility issue to Tony and Bob, they created a solution, constructed a prototype, and submitted it to Yahoo! management the same day. This was the first time a 2-post conversion bracket was designed, allowing servers to be mounted in 2-post racks. Yahoo! ordered these brackets and began a lengthy relationship, pleased by their creativity.

Expanding on this original project, RackSolutions has built a reputation in the data center market for inventiveness, speed, and quality over the years. They've not only solved "everyone else's" rack mount compatibility issues in the IT and data center sector, but they've also created their product lines. Their off-the-shelf and bespoke products may now be found anywhere from a single rack in your office's IT closet to the world's largest data centers.

Because their technique relies on rapid prototyping early in the process, they require a unique manufacturing partner. To keep up with their engineering team's wacky ideas, they ended up establishing their factory in 2005, right next to company offices in the center of the 13-acre site. They were astounded by what this enabled. Their engineers appreciate that they can generate a concept in the morning and see a model by the afternoon. They pride their short turnaround times for unique projects, generally providing prototypes in days and manufacturing in weeks. Because their production is so tightly linked to the engineering department, they can achieve industry-leading quality and provide only items that satisfy their stringent criteria.

Throughout their expansion, they have maintained their focus on innovative problem-solving. They are a product development firm with a broader reach than the Data Center and IT industries. They've introduced various product lines into wholly new initiatives throughout the years, resulting in several spin-off firms. Their passion for assisting clients in solving challenging challenges crosses sectors and continues to offer them new and exciting partnerships.
